Good Morning Readers!
I don’t have a ton of time to write today, unfortunately. However, I wanted to just let you all know that I was thinking about you and that despite the busy-ness of the day, it is important to stop and take notice of what is around you.
Today I was walking to work and I realized just how beautiful of a place I live in. As I traversed my way through the grass and wood chips, I looked over our fire swamp (a pond in the center of camp) and noticed five does looking back at me. As I walked past, they simply stayed and watched – even when I was within fifteen feet of them, which isn’t surprising.
These same does feed outside my windows where Sofi, my puppy, loves to watch them. She wags her tail and barks, but they aren’t afraid of her (mostly because she’s always inside or on her leash).
Of our herd, there are three bucks. They are absolutely gorgeous. One large, hefty buck and two twins who were born 2 or 3 years ago (their antlers are still growing). This morning I watched them tussle.
Not only do the deer surround us, but so do many other creatures. Our fire swamp, lake, and lagoon are filled with fish, turtles, frogs, toads, and beavers. We have opossums, raccoons, and other small rodents. And then we have birds of all sorts, ducks, pelicans, geese, turkeys, and pheasants.
It is a gorgeous world we live in. Have you taken time to stop and notice?
What is the most beautiful thing you have seen today?
